Travelers looking for relief from the cost and stress associated with parking at O’Hare have a viable alternative with GO Airport Express.
With airport parking lots typically full from Tuesday through Thursday, travelers often spend time searching for spaces only to wind up parking in the distant economy lots where they have to take a bus and then a train to get to their terminal, according to Rob Hann director of operations for Airport Express.
“Travelers who don’t plan on the extra time required for parking at the outer lots may miss their flights,” says Hann.
O’Hare’s current rates are $30 per day in the main lots, which adds up to $90 for a three day trip. Hourly parking in the garage is $50 per day and daily rates at economy lots are as much as $16.
GO Airport Express offers door-to-door service between both airports and travelers’ homes or places of business. The vans drop customers off at their gates and have exclusive inner lane loading for the return trip home. Rates for one person start at $27 between Chicago and O’Hare and $22 for Midway Airport. Discounts of up to 50 percent are available for pairs and groups. Suburban rates vary depending on location but are typically cheaper than taxi cabs.
“In addition to being more economical, a shared ride is a more environmentally friendly transportation option because it reduces fuel consumption,” says Hann.
Founded in 1853 as the Parmelee Transportation Company, GO Airport Express currently transports more than one million passengers annually to and from Chicago’s airports. Its services are offered to and from downtown Chicago, as well as Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Bucktown, Near North, West Loop and South Loop neighborhoods and O’Hare service to and from most West, North and Northwest suburbs. It has recently joined the GO Group network of global ground transportation providers to better serve the needs of customers worldwide.
